DISSEMINATION OF BLACKBERRY CROPS ULTRAFOAM® ROOTING MEDIA

The selection of source plants and production of cuttings: healthy, robust, well-adapted plants that produce high yields are selected (Photo 1).

Make cuttings from stems of plants that have already produced yields, have woody or somewhat woody textures and have between two and three buds. Disinfect these cuttings with fungicides or commercial disinfectants, following an Agronomic Engineer’s recommendations regarding doses (Photos 2 and 3).

Soaking ofULTRAFOAM® Rooting Medias sheets:
for successful sowing on Grower's sheets, make sure that the sheets have been well soaked and avoid leaving any dry patches (Photo 4)

Sowing: The cuttings should be inserted into the substratum, making sure that they do not fall over, at a depth that is neither too deep nor too superficial. After the sowing, it is advisable to spray the sheets with cooled water in order to keep them humid, without, however exceeding appropriate sprinkling time (Photos 5 and 6). Once abundant roots are observed, the material will be ready to be taken out to the field.
